MARK BORSHEIM, M.D.

Dr. Borsheim graduated from the University of Saskatchewan in 1986 and is board certified in family practice in the U.S. and Canada. He and Dr. Riske founded the Hayden Lake Family Physicians clinic in 1993. A devoted family man, he and wife Kim have a daughter and a son. In his leisure time, Dr. Borsheim enjoys skiing, golfing and boating. He has also traveled abroad on several medical missions, most recently to Guyana. Dr. Borsheim’s practice philosophy is simple – to treat every patient as though he or she was a member of his own family. 

 
 

TERRY RISKE, M.D.

Dr. Riske graduated from the University of Saskatchewan in 1986 and is board certified in family practice in both the U.S. and Canada in family practice. He and Vivian have been married for over 35 years and have three children. He finds joy in his family, singing, and missionary work. Dr. Riske approaches each patient as a whole being with physical, emotional, and spiritual needs. He also believes that each patient has a responsibility to actively participate in his or her wellness.

 
 

BRAD BROSOSKY, M.D.

Dr. Brososky is a 1995 graduate of the University of Alberta in Edmonton. He joined the Hayden Lake clinic in 1998. He and his wife Roxanne are proud to have become naturalized U.S. citizens in November 2002. They enjoy all types of outdoor activities. Dr. Brososky views each patient encounter as a challenge to integrate good medical care with the unique personal background and needs of individual people.

 
 

ARLIE ESAU, M.D.

Dr. Esau is also a 1995 graduate of the University of Alberta in Edmonton and along with friend, Brad Brososky, joined the Hayden Lake Family Physicians clinic in 1998. He and Melanie have been married for more than 25 years and have three daughters. He’s a handyman who enjoys all kinds of mechanical and household projects and is an avid outdoorsman as well. He also stays active playing hockey. He enjoys getting to know his patients personally and does his best to incorporate his understanding of his patients into his health-care decisions.

 
 

VANESSA GRAVES, B.A., M.D., ABFP

Dr. Graves grew up in Hayden and is very excited to be returning home! She graduated from the University of Arkansas for Medical Science in 2014 and is board certified in Family Practice. She met her husband Andrew at Harding University in Searcy, Arkansas and received her bachelors degree in Science and a Minor in Spanish to better aid her mission work throughout Central and South America. God and family are most important to her, but she also loves sports, traveling and playing with her dogs, Berkley and Bailey. Dr. Graves believes that family medicine should be a partnership between the physician and the patient; and together they can build a path to health, healing and happiness.

 
 

LAURISA WEBSTER, M.D., ABFP

Dr. Laurisa Webster graduated from the Family Medicine Residency of Idaho in Boise/Caldwell, Idaho. She was born and raised in Saskatchewan, Canada; but is excited to remain in Idaho to continue practicing medicine. Her approach to medicine emphasizes the importance of lifestyle to maximize quality of life— specifically exercise and nutrition. When she is not working, she loves to do just about anything outdoors, such as snowboarding, snowshoeing, biking, running, and paddle boarding.

 
 

RENEE PALMER, APRN,CNP

Renee obtained her nursing degree from Gonzaga University in 2013 and worked as a school nurse at CDA District 271 and as a surgical nurse at Kootenai Hospital. She completed her nurse practitioner education at Samford University, graduating in 2015. She is board certified as a family nurse practitioner by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. She and her husband, Cody, have a daughter and a dog named MoMo. When she isn’t spending time with her family, she loves to sing, bake and travel. She has been involved in several mission trips to Haiti and India, and loves combining her faith with medicine and helping others. Renee believes in a holistic approach to patient care: seeking to preserve or restore the health of the whole person’s mind, body and spirit.

 
 
 

Nicholas Bozarth, PA-C

Nicholas grew up in SW Washington and is a 2015 graduate of the University of Washington. He moved to North Idaho in 2021. Nicholas and his wife, Trista, are blessed with 4 daughters. In their spare time, they enjoy camping, skiing, hiking, and exploring nature. He is certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants. He practices under three basic principles: First, Do No Harm, The Golden Rule, and The Shared Decision-Making Model. He treats patients of all ages and strives to offer best practice care at every visit. He believes that your healthcare circumstances are unique to you and your situation and respects the decisions you make for yourself.

 
 

FRANCIS deTar, FNP-BC

Fran obtained his nursing degree from North Idaho College, his Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from Boise State University, and his Masters of Science in Nursing from St. Joseph’s College of Maine. His nursing experience has been as a Surgical Nurse, IMCU nurse, and Surgical Charge Nurse with Kootenai Health. After obtaining his Family Nurse Practitioner certification through The American Nurses Credentialing Center, he specialized in General Surgery with experience at Kootenai Health and Northwest Specialty Hospital. He joins Hayden Lake Family Physicians as a primary care provider while he continues to provide Medical Care for post-acute patients and for residents of Long Term Skilled Nursing facilities through Heritage Health. Fran has been married to his wife Maureen for thirty-seven years, the love of his life. They have five children and seventeen grandchildren. He loves traveling and spending time on the water with his family, landscaping the yard, and wood working for relaxation. Fran looks for Our Lord in every patient and meets them where they are, truly listening to them and implementing life choices that are realistic.

 
 

Jonathan Adams, PA-C

Jon graduated from UC Davis in 2011. He has been working in family practice medicine for the past 13 years. His greatest joys in life are serving his Lord and Savior and spending time with his wife, Heather, and their two sons and daughter. Together they enjoy ATV riding, downhill skiing, boating, fishing, archery, camping, biking, hiking, and exploring new places. Jon loves serving in his local church by playing piano and singing. In medical practice, he enjoys listening to his patients’ needs and strives to always give them ample time to get to the root of their issues with the desire to restore them to full health. He respects his patients’ decisions about their own health and sees each patient as an individual and enjoys getting to know them as such.

 
 

Rachel Porter, APRN,FNP-C

Rachel graduated from Spring Arbor University in 2023 and is board certified in family practice by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. She previously attended Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee where she received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and minored in French language. She is married to her high school sweetheart, Kekoa, and has two wonderful little boys at home. She enjoys spending time outside, crafting, traveling, and trying new recipes. Rachel has a heart for mission work and views each person as uniquely and wonderfully made by our Creator. She adopts a holistic approach to medicine and enjoys helping patients reach their full potential in both their physical and mental health.
